As above. The price differential between a new D5 and a nearly new D4 is so great I think it will be a long time before the D5 effects D4 prices. Especially as it will be sometime before you can secure a decent discount on a D5.

Spot on Red Merle. Just look at late facelift RRS prices to see how launching a new model at a £15k+ premium helps keep previous model values afloat.

England

I bought nearly new D2 Metropolis for £30k when D3 was launched and 2 years later got £20k which I thought was pretty good

I bought one of last FL1s just over a year old for £10k and 3 years later sold it for £7k - best deal ever

It looked like buying discounted old model was good move

I then bought new RRS Black Edition for £54k after big discount when RRS2 launched and 2 years later had to practically give it away to online car buying service for £36.5k after zero interest from dealers

I didn't expect this as the new model was about £20k more expensive new with all the toys I had

I bought first ingenium engine DS and after 9 months sold it for £4.5k less than I paid

Rocketing new LR prices kept used prices strong before but it appears this is no longer the case - buyers want the new shape more now and will pay dealers for it with finance

D4 may buck the trend though as there is no defender anymore and everything new is a departure from the traditional LR many prefer
Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!
