1**D Waitrose today

Not really a traditional spot and I'm not expecting it to be an owner on here.

I could have posted on another area and included the video but in case it is some one here I will allow them anonymity.

Black D3 Cream interior 2 digit 2 letter reg parked in Waitrose car park today, it was there when I arrived and there when I left.

The engine sounded very nice and smooth.

Problem with it?? it was unatended and engine running the whole time, at first I thought "Perhaps it's the FBH?" but it was very hot today.

Possibly though no excuse and it was under cover as multistorey.

I thought it illegal too but it depends on where it is parked, on public road yes anywhere else who knows.

My uncle was telling us all last year how he'd been shopping for an hour and went back to his car and it was running. He was shocked as he had "definitely " pressed the lock button on his key fob. Asked if that actually ever turned off the engine, he "thought so, maybe I'd better check".

Only had the car 3 years ... I'm left wondering how often he's done it.

When we were picking up Skippy an old couple parked up next to us and headed in to the showroom, leaving their engine running. It was hot (end June) so thought they might just have left it running to keep the car cool. Sure enough, when they got back in the driver tried to start the car and the starter did the expected grinding noise. He just shrugged so prob wasn’t the first time he’d done this.

Re the car in Waitrose, of stop/start age? I wonder if these cars restart the if left with the car just stopping the engine and the driver getting out, pos leaving the car unlocked. If the battery dropped a bit would the car start back up?

PS Just clocked D3 so rules out s/s. Prob just some old codger that isn’t quite with it. They drive among us daily. Thumbs Up
