My 1st D4

Hi all, Popping in to say Hi. Picked up my first ever Disco back on Christmas Eve and have since been reading the forum in the background. Thought it was about time to share my D4 - HSE Lux 64 plate.

Have change front grille and side vents to gloss black and had to fit roof bars and box ( only when in use ) for holidays on account of having 3 kids and two dogs.

I can say its the best decision I've made to get a D4 to replace my old 61 plate SMAX - enjoy the drive and motorway miles to glide by even in traffic.

The car looks great. Where did you source the grill and vents? OEM or aftermarket. Looking to do the same. Thumbs Up

I did some research and found none genuine part from here https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/land-r...black.html

Side vents also. Check which one as they have pre facelist mixed in as well which won’t fit. Appear to be out of stock. Black vents were £40 for the pair from here. Both are debadged but they sell badges if required.

If you want the genuine article front grille you can pay 4 times the price

Nice looking Disco. Do you have any trouble reaching the roof box or do you use a ladder?

Hey Liam so yeh roofbox. Well. Being 6’2” helps but I did have issue to start with. I already owned a single side opening box and even with a step ladder I wasn’t able to fit it to the D4 - couldn’t reach the far side fitting so had to go buy a new two side opening box which I can now reach to fit. Getting items in and out I use the disco side step and for extra reach if needed I’ll stand on the rear tyre.

Hi Phew,

Thanks for that update. Fortunately I am also quite tall & have a two-side opening box; but reading your story, I see some side steps being added to my Disco

Cheers

Hi GFOS31 - I’ve got a Thule Motion XT XL from Halfords. Cheapest place I could find it

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...reId=10001

Fits nicely and isn’t too tall. I had bars fitted so went down there and then put it straight on the roof. It’s got spin locks so only took about 5 mins to fit.
