2 Adults Sleeping in a D4
The wife and I are due to be attending a wedding this summer. It’s a “festival” type wedding apparently, so basically in the middle of no where and they are recommending everyone camps, or brings caravans etc. they have got a tipi company in that can setup a mini camp for you, if required for a hefty sum!
We can only do the main event night due to childcare, so I’ve suggested to the wife we sleep in the D4. So a few questions. Can 2 adults sleep reasonably comfortably in the back? I’m guessing air bed is best, so I will need to find one that will fit. If anyone has a recommendation, please let me know. I believe there are toilets nearby!
I like the idea of a RTT or similar setup, but I don’t think it would get used much at the moment and I don’t want to spend loads of time setting up a ground tent etc. Also if the weather isn’t great, at least we will be in the car and won’t have a load of wet kit to pack up before we leave the next day.
Any tips from anyone who has done it?

Plenty of room in the back of a Disco, just fold the seats flat. Either use an air mattress or a couple of roll mats. Leave a window cracked for ventilation. Best nights sleep you can have outside I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Perfect. Thanks for the confirmation. I will take some measurements when I get back from holiday and look for a mattress.
I’m also planning to drop the suspension at one end using my IID to keep the wife's reflux happy! I need to have a look at that again as I haven’t changed the suspension for a while. I’m hoping I can just drop one end, then reset it to standard the next morning without having to get a tape measure out and check each wheel!

Have you considered maybe parking on a slight slope…? Corris Grey SDV6 D4 2015 HSE

Well yes, that’s the obvious choice, but I’m not expecting much of a slope anywhere as it’s a camping ground. I was hoping to use the suspension which should take a few seconds to sort rather than carrying something to drive up into if I can’t find a slope etc.

Put her in access mode to stop suspention rocking in the night. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

And get something to block out the daylight of which there is plenty at this time of year. Otherwise you’ll be awake at 4am ☀️

camping in disco
No problems for me , I'm nearly 6 ft and with a self inflating mattress it's great place to sleep. You even have bedside lights and cup holders at the rear of the car ? we have a land rover event tent which fits on the rear of the car and makes camping even easier.

You can get a mattress off Amazon pretty cheap and it's much comfier than an airbed.
Crack a few windows.
I sometimes pull a big tarp over the top of the car and secure it to the wheels, which helps with keeping it dark.
You can fit two in the back but it might be a bit snug.

I’ve got custom made thermal window panels for sleeping out in my D4.
