2006 Disco 3 - Adding 6th and 7th seats |
|
Hi,
New here.
I've got the chance to buy a 2006 Disco 3 HSE but it has only the regular back bench and no extra seats in the boot.
How easy is it to retro-fit these and if so is it done via a Land Rover dealer or can a regular maintenance garage do it ?
Thanks for any advise.

Seat belts and wiring - that is one of the problems. |

Are you certain you want the extra seating?
More seating means less storage space as without the third row seats, you get an underfloor storage area and less dead weight to haul about.
Putting the seats is is do able however the real work is in seat belts, wiring, and the like; also I assume that there are no air bags back there etc.
One of the advantages of the extra seats at least on the NAS HSE is that you get a second heater and air condtioning - that is probably the real plus of the extra seats.
Myself, I was looking for a 5 seat HSE, however they are not common and also no extra heater etc so ... 2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

Thanks bbyer. You make some very valid points.
I'll think twice now about the extra seating.
