2010 D4 cambelt / 7 year service |
|
As somebody who doesn't do main dealer service I've taken the plunge and booked the car in at Lookers West London, slightly worried financially.
I could not find an indi near enough that I trusted, Rovertune sounded amazing but just too far from me.
I have to wait nearly 8 weeks to get the car in at Lookers but excited to get a loan car!
I'm doing the 7 year service, cambelt and they'll check it over.
They say no need to do either water or oil pumps? what's the opinion on this?
Also as I love the car and am keeping I thought I would get the transfer box oil + front and back diff oil done at same time, the car is only on 72000 miles and its not due to 80000 but I thought get them to do it at the same time as I'm keeping the car for a long time.
Also the service schedule mentions new brake lines at 6 years, I have never done this, is this something I should do even if they look fine?
Anything else worth getting done by a main dealer at the same time?

Hi,
is it a very early 2010 or maybe 2010my 59 plate or are you doing the service early
worth checking your s/h as I believe the tran/box oil should have been done at 5th year service/80 k

Hi,
due on time then if not miles
mine is a late 2010 and due its 6 year/96k (its done 76k)
last year I had its 80k done and it did include the tran/box oil
7 year is an A service 112k plus front and rear belts, the brake hoses should have done at the 6 year, like mine will be done(looked) at

Sounds expensive all of that I better start saving ! New brake lines? Are we talking the whole brake linings as I have seen mention of this on a 6yr service ? 6yrs is due in 2yrs time for mine and then the 7yr one. Dare i say it these i assume are the most expensive and then cost reduces somewhat on servicing. Its just the extra cost of fixing suspension bushes etc.

Its the flexible brake hoses, discs / pads are just when needed.
And yes I'm saving hard for this one!!

Mine is also getting ready for the cam belts replacing.
I've just noticed that my dealer has a deal on £669 for them doing is this a reasonable price for a LR dealer?

Sounds reasonable - ask them if they will throw in the Aux belt as well
Local Indy here was about £100 cheaper for all 3

That is a deal, I'm paying £1439.87 inc vat for both belts + 7 year service, I may see if they will match your deal?

@adam yep will have too see roundabout time it's due . Will see where I am warranty wise etc , currently running the LR warranty so don't want any upsets but if I go elsewhere when I renew then serious consideration given!
