I've decided I'm going to purchase the DRL's VPLAV0066

VPLAV0066

Looking through the fitting instructions there appears to be a box, I'm assuming this is the control box for the DRL's. i.e. When sidelights are selected it switches off the DRL's.

Would it be possible to rewire the function of the control box or is it likely to ba a PCB inside.

I was thinking of this kit. but just wondering if it needs activating in the computer or is it just plug and play?

Or just switch yer lights on to Scando setting via the CCF with an IID or similar. Simples. Thumbs Up

So if you set the lights to "Scando" setting in the CCF the fairy lights remain on all the time?

Scandinavian DRL Setting means the sidelights (leds if you have xenons) and dipped headlights will remain on all me.

So no option of having fairy lights as DRL's then?

Yes, but requires a bit of wiring.

Robbie has done all the hard work

Well, I splashed out on the set. Just had a look out at the lower bumper and there doesn't seem to be much space if any to get behind the bumper to fit and run the cable per the instructions.

There's no mention in the fitting instructions I have of removing the bumper.

Just looks like it could be a real fiddle.

Hi Chobby,
I've seen your post about the job of DLR, so I decided to install the genuine part in my D4 2011.
Is this job simple or there's some issue, i.e. with the connection?
May you suggest some tricks about?

Thanks in advance!

They are easy to fit but the instructions are aimed are dealer technicians so say things like connect ‘A’ to position 3 on C1234. So you then need to locate connector C1234 which is easy with a location diagram but not so easy if you don’t.

Does anyone have the complete instructions and post it here?
In these way I try to find on the electrical diagram the connections, so I can understand if I'm up to this job.

Recently fitted this VPLAV0066 kit to the D4, DRL comes on with engine start but when the sidelights/fairy lights are turned on the DRLs turn off rather than dimming Banging Head any thoughts on why that would be the case?

I'm picking up on this thread. I have these fitted as standard. They used to work, but now they don't. I noted in the drawing that there is a fuse. Where is that fuse located? This could be my first point for fault finding. I also wanted to check where the control box was located to check the connections.

Any help would be great

TIA
