2012 First Service Cost for D4? |
|
I've searched the threads and the relative comments seem to be all from 2010.
Any comment on current first service costs for a D4?
I've been quoted £395 inc. at my supplying dealer but I know that there's haggle room there so I'm looking for the best prices that other owners have encountered.

2011 D4, first service in April 2012.
Phoned around main dealers, some answered, some didn't...
Most wanted £450. Stratstones Edinburgh offered a loyalty discount and so down to £360 (even though I've never had any dealings with Stratstones before).
Taggarts Motherwell wanted £450 - I quoted Stratstone's price and so they offered to do it for £350. They're five miles away from me, so that's where my business went.

Thanks for that guys. Interesting about the loyalty reduction.
I'll do some work on it.

Thanks DC.
I'll give him a call tomorrow. Their Service "Offers" menu is a little different from others in the Matford group.

Hi All,
I know we are a bit too far to travel for some of you but we are doing D4 first services for £195 plus VAT using genuine parts, correct oils and procedures in accordance with LR service schedule. No warranty can be deemed invalid through servicing at an independent if all procedures and specs are used as recommended by LR.
If anyone would like the offical service schedule we work from ( which is provided by LR ) please PM me with your vehicle and service details.
Many Thanks
Brian

Just had that first service on my D4 at Matford Land Rover in Exeter.
They chuck in a half day LR Experience Voucher and a free wash and vacuum plus change the key fob batteries. £398 all up. In addition there was a questionnaire to fill in regarding quality of service.
It's the little things innit.
When I got there I explained that the vehicle probably needed some computer updates (gearbox and fuel hesitation) and was told it didn't. In the event it did and I had to wait an extra 30 minutes whilst that was done which meant that there was no time to wash and vacuum the vehicle (I can bring it back anytime in the future apparently).
The batteries weren't changed in the key fobs until I reminded when I was paying the bill that it was part of the service that they had advertised.
When carrying out the service, the dash clock had been set to the incorrect tiime and was two hours slow.
The aforementioned questionnaire had already been filled in with all the superlatives ticked. All I had to do was return it.
Not impressed and was suddenly reminded why I don't use Matford Land Rover.
I now need to go over the vehicle to see if there's anything else that they've missed/left undone as a confidence check.

OK Peely - wilco. Did 100 miles today and nothing noticed except perhaps that the fuel consumption is worse.
I had a look at my Blackvue footage today and was 'interested to note that when the vehicle was taken for a test drive after the service, the speed was way in excess of the speed limits for most of the 5 minutes that it was out. (50-55kph in the 45 kph zones and 75-78 in the 60kph zone for example). It was also surprising how much of the two hours needed for the service was actually spent with no visible sign of actiivity in or around the vehicle @ £150 per hour.

Oh dear
Sorry to hear that Bill....
Mine goes in to Matfords on Monday to look at the vibration that I get through the steering wheel whilst braking....doesn't bode well does it
It's only since having my D4 that I have returned to Matford Land Rover,I stopped using them when I had the D3 as they made so many mistakes ,so then started to use Roger Young until I had issues with them also ,I have decided to give Matford another chance seeing as they have a new Service Manager!
