Nope Harry - they are definitely not chrome. Subtle matt black - Maybe that's the NEW UPMARKET CHROME on the HSE
Certainly can't spec it
Did you see my reply to your V5 query too?
Any one like me to try a photo of anything SPECIFIC now I've worked out how to upload the damn things?
Clive
I did see your post about the V5 - cheers!
One more argument I'd like to see settled - could you take a look (when you have time) at the Navigation map of Ireland and see how many of our wonderful new motorways are actually on it now, like the M3 to Kells, the M7 to Limerick, M8 to Carlow, etc....?
Come to think of it, I wonder if it's possible to upgrade to that new style Navigation/radio control panel system on earlier D4's?!
Also, I think there has been a minor change to the front bumper which now incorporates a more substantial black number plate holding area.......!

FIRST DRIVING IMPRESSIONS
For Harry - Posted a pic (in my gallery) of the front bumper area its a perfect fit for my EU English plates. And it definitely showed something called the N3 motorway going thru Virgina which I think is a newish motorway.
Interesting point re another thread re offical DRLs - dealer fit LED units in the lower bumper as far as I could tell. BUT the ONLY place I can see that remotely resembles a cut -out is where my surround cameras are already sited
Anyway more interesting stuff. Now managed to drive 140miles yesterday
Cruising in Drive in 8th at 80 mph = 1900 rpm and 90mph =2100, very low I think, so might help high speed fuel consumption. 8th seems like an overdrive at these speeds and slightest throttle seems to produces kick down to 7th.
It was sometimes into 6th at just over 30 round town.
Flappers do work in both D & S with a 2 second pull to set back to either AUTO D or AUTO S. They also over-ride any stupid decisions both UP and DOWN as normal. If you select paddle then don't use them they reset in about 5 seconds I reckon. Quite useful for a quick getaway after a stationary stop in D, is left paddle flip to select 1st gear, gun it but leave it alone - it will change up as needed then auto revert to D AUTO as you progress. You can force higher gears in slow traffic too which may help consumption.
Overall I thought the box blends very well with changes virtually imperceptible in higher gears - you can only definitely tell by the revs. Pick up acceleration from 50-70mph just in D felt very quick and I'm used to a lighter 3.0L D 4x4.
So far I'm well chuffed
CliveIf it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

I can second that Clive! I'm blown away by how good the thing seems to be and the way the gearbox works is super smooth and intuitive. Went for a gentle bimble around this afternoon and had an average fuel figure of 29+ too! Like you, I am well happy with it! Even the access mode seems to work really well for me getting into it from my wheelchair. ( Getting out is easy - just open door, fall out and check canopy! )

Not MY2012 specific, but any chance of a couple of exterior shots. I too have gone for Ipanema Sand with Almond/Nutmeg and I'm seeking reassurance that I haven't made a mistake. I've only seen one in the showroom and it looked slightly green. Mine's not due till early November

Mine's two years old next Saturday and the mpg display is optimistic by about 15% compared with brim-to-brim measures. (Unless of course the odometer is out instead!)

See Highbayrack's photo of Ipanema sand - a very good repro on my screen
No you haven't made a mistake it's a fantastic colour that changes in all sorts of light and only the meerest hint of green under show room lights.
My salesgirl who had only seen it on a FL2 and a RRS, was bowled over and all the sales staff were complimenting the colour combined with the interior, when it was put in the showroom for me to collect. The first 2012 that any had seen as they hadn't PDI'd any of their 2 demo's
You won't be disappointed I reckon and it's nice to have something just a bit different
Clive
Oh forgot to say I'm too worried to look at the lieometer so far but have brimmed the tank and reset the trip so can do some accurate comparison. But the flapping is so much fun that you can't expect good mpg at the begining If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

I don't expect _good_ mpg readings, but accurate would be nice! For all the D4 is supposed to be more economical than the D3, I'm getting worse MPG - but that's because of the way you can throw it round corners, and especially the roundabouts up the A43 to the office in Northampton...

It is absolutely amazing how mpg varies from one vehicle to another. I'm averaging between 36 (worst) and almost 41 (best) mpg depending on which roads I've been on. See my Fuelly link for some more details on this..... The average fuel display is always below 8 l/100km unless I've been in the City all week, in which case it creeps up to nearer 9 l/100km.
Mind you I have always noticed better MPG here in Ireland than when in the UK....... you wouldn't think the roads are any better here but they must be!2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

I've looked at Highbayrack's gallery as well and I still reckon I've ordered the right colour. I didn't want a dark colour and I wanted a change from silver. But SWMBO keeps referring to our beigemobile that's on order
