2013 Commercial - kitting out rear for power |
|
I've had a search through the forum but can only find one post where someone (wiggs) has fitted a 2nd battery in the rear compartment.
As per the subject - I have a 2013 D4 Commercial which I am going to kit out with 2 x leisure batteries and install my existing IBS split charge kit etc. I've used all the kit before in my Sprinter support van so have no questions about the kit / split charge but I just wanted to know if there is any pitfalls in running the link cable from the existing engine bay battery and whether it is easier to run the cable down the passenger (preferred) or drivers sides (and what gauge is the max to fit through existing grommets / bulkhead holes?)
I'm going to put the batteries in a cage under the rear floor area along with my compressor and invertor etc etc. Should be well ventilated enough and the batteries are sealed gel marine spec type leisure batteries so don't have the issues ordinary lead acid batteries do for use in passenger compartments.
Thanks in advance for any replies!
