Personally I don't rate any "climate control" or "auto" Air Con system - never found them to do as expected and just end up annoying you. Our BM system is exactly the same, too sophisticated for its own good.
I prefer the old Ford Escort system of one dial for fan and one for hot/cold  SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE
