Engel - I have a MT45 that is 14 years old and still performing as new, I also have an Engel MR40. Both have been extensively used in UK, Europe and North Africa for extended periods with no issues. not cheap but 'buy cheap, buy twice' definitely applies.
The above units are compressor fridges so will cool to a setpoint, Peltier units will chill to a set number of degrees below ambient - not great if that is 12deg. C. and your ambient is 35deg. C.

Ditto re Engel. Haven’t used mine in anger for a few years now but it did a sterling job as an additional freezer during lockdown #1. Now it’s doing a sterling job as a laundry basket!!

Another vote for Engel. I've owned mine for 15 tears or so, it's an MD17 (almost the smallest one they make).
It's been with me as far as Morocco, Bulgaria, Norway, (and probably most of europe at one time or another). For most of that time, when it's not been in use in the car, it's running on mains power 24/7, delivering cold drinks and snacks in the workshop.
It's still cold and quiet, and has never given a hint of trouble.
The others *may* be as good, but I *know* how good the Engels has been. If it died I'd go looking for another straight away. They are pricey though, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second hand one to keep the cost down.

Hi all
Thanks for the shout outs
I ended up needing one for Thursday evening onwards so opted for the Halfords with the view to ditching it back at store and going for Engel
Turns out
Really impressed
Got it out the box and it was 25 degrees inside. 45 minutes later it had dropped to -20!
Left in a hit caravan all weekend and it maintained 3 degrees no issue
Thanks
