4 * 4 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY |
|
Hi all there,
My 2009 LR3 HSE doesn't have the 4 * 4 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY which comes with the navigation.
So, is it possible to upgrade my NAVIGATION to the PREMIUM one and what is the possible cost?
My regards,

Sorry to say this, but its not possible at all. Far too much integration with vehicle systems to make it practical. Its not just a software upgrade.

do you actually have the High Level Display unit already fitted?
if so its just a CCF option that can be programmed.
if not its probably as the others say. Mind you if the system is still high line, you might be able to add the HLD

My interpretation of the is that Mr. Lover has Standard Nav and wants to upgrade it to Premium Nav. If this is the case then it's can't be done at the flick of a switch as some modules will be missing...it's a factory fit. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I always get confused between standard and premium nav.
I take it the prem has the traffic news bit. I have nav with voice directions, input on the move. But don't have the TV, 4x4 or anything else. So I'm assuming I have standard nav? HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Premium nav has a TMC module for traffic info.... voice activation for telling the system what you want it to do... 4x4 info screen which is a visual interpretation of what all the trickery is up to ...and off-road nav which will show contours and allow tracking etc. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I think that there is a lot of confusion caused by grouping, naming, marketing in general and a some virtual features being made as to appear to be physical. We have leaned not consider "fitted" to mean physical presence of something, or "enabled" just to mean turned on any more. With Ford, if you update the software in an ECU, its actual physical part number stuck on the outside changes !!!
For the forthcoming release of our Car Configuration Edit software, we have been studying collations that we have done of the exact configuration of a cross section combining over nearly 300,000 Disco 3 and RR sports.
Its quite interesting and very exacting and i thought you might like to share some figures.
Navigation is fitted to 179902
HLDF (touch screen unit) is fitted to 179902
Multi media Module fitment is on 179902
The multi media module high / low specification is divided as
high = 157086 / low = 22816 (The high is the one that gets the 4x4 info)
Voice Control via multi media is also fitted to 157086
Although microphones are fitted to 183640
TMC is fitted to 128614 some get other items such as VICS
What is referred to as a Human Machine interface and i believe means the off road NAVI / contour bit is enabled on 117029
BTW, TV is fitted to 29236

So what are you saying Mr Spy ? In layman, non-essay, terms ....it can be done at the flick of one of your magical switches or not 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

BBS,
Must be a good market for this without buying the whole 'cow' so to speak.
So who's gonna buy the 'top level' multi unit system and charge us a few quid to turn it on? Good opportunity for those with the cash to invest. Stick me in the queue if anyone does it. Show season is upon us and everyone's gonna be in the same places at the same time.... £100 a pop, anyone?
Wish I could do it myself.
