47kg lpg refill - what should I be paying?

We have 2 bottle lpg gas fire, 1st ran out and previous owners neglected to tell us the 2nd was also empty Rolling Eyes

Anyway, SWMBO owning at being cold, any rough idea on what I should be paying to refill?

Cheers

Before we got out tank installed I was using Calor 47kg bottles to run the central heating (no mains gas here) Depending where you bought it from, it ranged from £70 odd (for cash) to over a hundred at the local petrol station.
That was about 3 years ago so it may have fluctuated up or down since then

Hi,
as mentioned ^^ does depend which cylinders you have as MT's as some suppliers ask for a "deposit"

if you have Calor and have a Go outdoors near by they will price match and beat, so search tinternet for best price first (just over £100 on their web)

otherwise have a ring around locally our coalman was best value last time but its a few years ago (flogas then)

Less than £50 would be my target

Thumbs Up

If you buy the right connectors, you can refill just about any gas canister yourself and save a small fortune. Wink
Be aware though, most filling stations are still somewhat nervous of self fill and won't allow it.
You might need to find a tolerant filling station ( rurals are usually ok ) before splashing out but in a couple of fills, you'll have your outlay back.

Cheers all, back online now....

Loads of handy links and suggestions as usual, we're in Burtle about 15 mins from Somerset, there's a place up in Mark will try them this morning and get a price Thumbs Up

Nigel, saw your self fill posts, may look at this longer term, our nearest petrol station does LPG, only 10 mins away also Thumbs Up

+1 Thumbs Up will never use calor again! Flo gas much cheaper and plenty of outlets.

We use it in the tin tent and have never had a problem finding it all over the country.
