59 Plate Discover 4 engine oil leak

So as the title says, after a 2 mile drive today when i returned to my car i noticed a pool of engine oil on the ground, after having brought it home on the trailer removing belly plate and washing off and topping up engine oil i started her up to see oil pouring from a hole just behind the bottom pulley see pic center!

Presumably its the crank seal that let go or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Could anyone please tell me what engine recalls or known faults the 3lt tdv6 has had,
Mine is a 2010 build 59 plate I have read about spinning main bearings
And oil pumps being replaced but little about leaking crank seals.
I was wondering if my problem is as a result of one of these known issues.
And if Land Rover should be footing some or all of the repair bill.

I'm trying to gain as much info on these faults as poss before I deliver
my pride and joy (most of the time) to my local dealer.

Thanks in advance.

The 3.0 had an issue with the whole crank seal coming out if the oil pump housing. The fix is a new oil pump that is a modified part.

Thanks for that info Mastertech, I have now had a new oil seal fitted by my local
Land Rover dealer, there was mention by the workshop manager that a new pump should have been fitted and it was suggested that i had this work done.
I opted for just a new seal to be fitted, I just hope it will be ok!
