Strangely TFC, my wife asked if I wanted to watch '51st State' and I thought great, she's finally got to grips with action movies - much to my disgust however the opening titles revealed that the DVD was a girlie flick called '50 First Dates'

I was robbed guv'nor !!

I also replaced the small side lights with 6-LED replacement bulbs. They look much better next to the xenons as they're a bright white/blue instead of a yellowish color. I also went so far as to replace the rear license plate bulbs with the same type of LEDs. All four bulbs were swapped out in 15 minutes. It's a snap. I have pics in my gallery.

Here's where I purchased them for a mere $15 for all four:

Can you post the model numbers please?? Are you not concerned over the heat issue from the main units?

The LED bulbs are model number WLED-W6. They're not directly in same housing as the main lamps (like some cars). They're in a seperate, more protected area. I've had them running for a total of about 30 hours now with no problems whatsoever.

Fitted mine today, as per the OP at the start of the tread. They are a good match.

The high beam and fogs look really yellow now. When does it stop!

Just fitted these got them from local Motorworld discount shop but paid £9.99 the pair. They look great, better than the dim orange glow. Very Happy

Which bulb type does the rear/brake light use. Symmetrical or asymmetrical pinned bayonets ?

I have found these from a webshop here in DK but they come with both type pins and i dont know which to get.

Im looking to buy these as the have plenty side illumination to fill the reflector.

Cheers
Jakob

I've recently got LEDs for my D3.

I got too many of the 5W wedge bulbs (didnt realise they were in pairs), so converted all the interior lights as well!

I've done the front sidelights, rear numberplate lights, rear tail and stop/tail lights.

I do find the sidelights a bit on the blue side though - they're bluer than the xenons.

These are the bulbs I got;

W5W - http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1016

P21/5 - http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.ph...ts_id=1134

I've seen other stop/tail light led bulbs, and imho the ones linked to above seem to give a very good difference between the tail and brake light brightness. They also make full use of the reflectors, and when seen sidebyside with a normal bulb, it's extremely difficult to tell the difference.

Brendan.

I replaced my interiors with LEDs, one by one they are failing. They start to flicker. I think they are adversly affected by curent drop. Could the dimming be reducing their life/
Let me know how you get on. I think I will replace the interiors with a higher wattage incandescents. Any ideas I can only fnd 5Ws.
