Is not the MY2010-13 RRS 3.0 available with paddle shift?- I am sure I've seen more than one with them, I assumed they had the same GB as the same model year D4.

I think it was 2012 onwards as an option but with Gap know how, it can be applied to 2010 onwards 3.0 d4 and Rrs. I've done both no problem. Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up The fact that they work in normal mode as well as sport is a major improvement from the paddle shift conversion on the D3, this news must increase the demand for the soft leather D4/RRS steering wheels with paddle shift.

Thanks to the excellent support from Patrick and the team at Gap, I've now got working paddles on my 2010 D4 Very Happy 8)
After a slight problem with the initial ECU flash, a modified version was made available via the Updater and it worked a treat.
I've now got the best of both world IMHO - a proper gear lever and working paddles Thumbs Up

I've worked out a long press of the + paddle returns it to normal D or S mode, is there anything else I should know about paddle shift?

And can we get a bit more freedom to shift up earlier in the speed range? I am there clicking away and no change until such time the car hits the minimum speed.

We need this lowered please! Thumbs Up

Isn't it CCF car configuration file edit deal? Does it really need to change gearbox TCM software?

Yes as you have to patch 8 speed software into a 6 speed box Rolling Eyes , GAP made this possible with a bespoke flash via the IID tool Thumbs Up

Yes, CCF edit is not enough, I tried that anyway Smile new steering wheel with paddle shifters fitted to 2012 D4 5.0 petrol but doesn't work as well as cruise control, ilumination on all steering wheel.

Spoke to Gap diagnostics a while back and yesterday they sent me a new file they had compiled from the L322 / L320 to make it work on the disco .

RRS TDV6 6-speed gearbox were fitted with paddle shifters so I would say that easier to edit/download same 6HP28 gearbox software to Discovery's gearbox module TCM than 8-speed 8HP70. I did some research over these files and compared it.

As in the above post, the 6 speed was available with flappy paddles on the RRS. I expect GAP have taken that part of the firmware from the RRS, and patched it into that of the D4 Thumbs Up

I'm thinking not to take a part of it but a whole file and download it to disco to check if paddles work. Adaption clear and new adaption then Thumbs Up

Besides these numbers - which many times are only a designation - you'll additionally have to look at the binary blocks that are written into the ECU if they are written at the same locations and what exactly are they....
Also, sometimes, the secondary boot loader is preventing you to write to some memory zones and in that case, you'll have to modify the SBL too.
