Cool...thanks for the quick reply
I have heard that it is pretty easy to mount the power supply in to the rear of the cig lighter (hard wired)
I have been looking at lots of different sat navs, are you happy with the tomtom?
Is it pretty secure...no nasty rattles or noises when driving?
Many thanks again

Absolutely no rattles or shake in the tomtom at all. Can be a bit fiddly if you want to see the screen underneath but that is a small price to pay.
The dash is so flexible you can hard wire just about anything just about anywhere, and like you say yes the central cubby is easy to remove so that may be a perfect location for the power feed. Thanks for the advice!

Cool...that's a job for me at the weekend I will let you know how I get on...you planning on anything further after the hardwiring?
I did look in to retro fitting a genuine disco 4 satnav but apparently it is a real pig of a job and it is not even that good compared to tomtom ect..
I have thought about trying to run an aux lead to somewhere more accessible than its current location.lol
Thanks again

Yeah future mods will probably involve fitting a nav surround and putting it behind that, although we need to find somewhere to put the existing display and I am really struggling with an enclosure for that which can be fitted into or above the glove box, depending on look.Justin

Sorry thread resurection by me.
After being quoted £900 to install a handsfree bluetooth kit in my GS spec LR 4 I've gone down the route of a Pure Highway for spotify and came across your solution with the TomTom.
Has anyone got pictures/confirm of how the tom tom easy mount attaches to the dashboard? I've bought it and can see Parallax33 mentions to cut off the prongs - does it go where I've drawn the red circle?
As it is quite a few years on I'm looking at a later TomTom unit to similar dimensions as the 60.

Hey All, good to see you all back here and still using my thread. The method Nick mentions is one way to get the TomTom slider piece in, but I seem to remember I put it into the are Matt has marked. Either way, it’s quite tight and stays put 👍
Good luck! Hey Nick, I saw your old wagon was sold on. Nice to see it (and you) again.Justin
