We've stayed at both Rawnsley & Wilpena in the past, and agree that Rawnsley is less formal. Like Retired Bob we can also make this part of our trip north for this year, as timing is fine. Will monitor the posts to see how things develop. GEOTRECAZ

How long do you plan to take

You and me both, garryc
I just go on my own now
Or with like-minded friends
Looks like I have now been thoroughly outvoted now
Rawnsley Park appears to be the one

Not that I wanna hijack RD's topic, but I am sure there should be a more central place to celebrate 60 years of LR history.
I see the Perth owners numbers have grown over the last couple of months, and perhaps a joints East-West-North-South venue can be found where more numbers can attend.
Uluru/Ayers Rock comes to mind.
Slap bang in the middle, with as much Heritage as Land Rover. Perhaps we can have LR declared the first World Heritage Auto.
Just an idea.
BTW RD, that wine was exceptional. 8) Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

I did think of The Alice & The Rock, but came a few 100km south.
I notice the increase in member numbers in Perth/WA
It should be about the same travel time from Perth to the North Flinders Ranges as Perth to the Centre. AFAIK you need permits & a good sense of humour to go direct Perth to The Centre on the Gunbarrel Hwy.
The prices for everything,at the touristy time of the year, in The Alice or Rock, skyrocket.
As a Geologist I find the North Flinders Ranges to be far more interesting than Ulluru and about 100 million years older, with a proportional increase in heritage. But that's My opinion Well make our own history.
Glad You enjoyed the wine. Will tell the maker You enjoyed it when I see Him next week. (I was hoping it wasn't corked or left in heat by the deliverers.) I'll be taking a few bottles with Me to the Flinders Ranges.
The seat covers are fantastic. They add that bit more comfort on a long journey. Did you think I would leave you crying,

Will start convincing SWMBO for a trip to Flinders then. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

2005 manual TDV6
Hi Peter,
I replaced sheep skin covers, because I could not get a matching set for the rear.
I replaced them with these, http://www.escapegear.co.za/ because the ancle biters started destroying my rears seats. I am very happy with these, and imported them from RSA, but since then they have a distributor in AUS.
Still trying to convince SWMBO for Flinders, to enjoy some more wonderful wine with RD. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?
