AA Warranty - good, bad or in-different. Help needed please |
|
Just got a provisional quote of £300.00 for 12 months. £75 excess per claim and maximinum pay out to £3k per individual claim. covers turbo, ecu blah think it is the 5 star level of cover.
Also get car rental contributions etc and if Halfords cant fix it, then you choose who does. (hence can use an Indy) anyone got any thoughts on the AA warranty, issues in them paying out etc ? At £300 it sounds cheap and am always slightly conscious of this being too good to be true.. We are off to France in the summer so it will be doing a lot of miles so need some form of security should she decide to stop working.
really grateful on any help, suggestions, bad experiences with the AA or any qualified mechanics who will live in the boot of my D3 for free, should she decide to be naughty......

Does it include wear and tear? If not I wouldn't bother. If it does, I'd rip their arm off!

actually states:
What is not covered
3. General servicing and maintenance, the adjustment or cleaning of components, wear and
tear or faults caused by lack of maintenance, neglect or improper use of the vehicle.

I have AA breakdown repair warranty. Covers all 3 vehicles for about £12/ month. They have covered an EGR valve and recently paid for a new suspension compressor. They didn't cover a seized brake caliper on BMW cos of water ingress. Can claim 7 times within a year at up to £500/ time.
Not a bad policy for the money. Need to call AA patrol following a breakdown/ near breakdown (on both of the above successful claims the D3 was still in use).
I believe the RAC also do a similar policy.
Worth a thought.
