I’ve actually had someone thank me for letting them run into the back of me! Many moons ago, I was in a Series 3 Land Rover, and had managed to stop at a junction on quite a steep hill that was covered in snow and ice. A chap following in an MG Midget didn’t. He’d been following me and was being sensible, but his car just wouldn’t stop. There was a very gentle nudge at the back as he touched. He got out of the car and said, “I’m really sorry. But, thank goodness it was a Land Rover!”
I think he dislodged a bit of dirt on the LR and broke his headlight glass!

I've had 3 Blackvues LRF1 but they have been unreliable so I bought a Thinkware on recommendation of some rrsport members and been brilliant - speed camera alerts and time lapse recording while parked come in handy
Have an F750 in the Mitsubishi and F770 in the Lexus now - both record using front and rear cameras Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Sorry to hear your news, I had a smash last month, totally his fault, but his insurance company wrote to mine stating that I had driven into him!!!!
Both insurance companies then watched my Nextbase dash-cam footage, and his insurance company immediately admitted liability and also said that they would not be paying out to repair his car as he lied to them (Warning some swearing on video )
So well worth getting a camera, you can see with mine the weather was awful, but everything was crystal clear
Oh one other thing, Nextbase come with SW that shows on Google mats where you were driving at the time, and speed and time etcIggy/Ieuan

Amazing, isn't it when that sort of thing happens and the other driver thinks it's not their fault! Sorry this happened to you but am pleased to hear your dash cam was able to prove who was at fault.

Exactly! I don't want a screen either. And I want it in a small package, that I can hide from my line of sight. It's surprisingly hard to find a decent quality one like that...... King of the typo.

That DDPai looks interesting - the X2 Pro in particular as I like the dual cameras.
What’s the story with ‘social camera’ stuff - is that optional?
Sorry for the off topic OP!King of the typo.

I thought exactly the same about cameras with screens until I tried one. I was concerned that when it was dark it would be very distracting. We have a Blackvue in the D4, but a Nextbase (with a screen) in my wife’s Mini. In actual fact the whole unit is totally hidden behind the rear view mirror, so not only is it not distracting, but it’s not even visible. Ant passengers that have been in the car haven’t found it distracting either, but it’s surprising how many have said “I must get one of those!”.
