ACM module - Why? And what cables am i missing?

Hi All,

A couple of years ago i bought an ACM module and cabling off someone on these forums. I can't remember why i bought it! I also remember it is missing a cable needed for my stereo, but i can't find the details.

Can anyone advise please?

A - Why did i buy it? I would like bluetooth audio streaming from my android device. Currently have a cheap aux plugin device. Is this better? A lot of threads seem to have aged off here.

B - What cable am i missing to connect into my hi-line HK stereo system?

Many thanks in advance
Mike

I bought one as it enabled me to use an Ipod direct with the built in stereo, including track skip etc (would also presumably work with Iphone). It does have one drawback which is that although it starts playing automatically when you switch the ignition on, it does not pause when you switch it off, not a big issue for music but a real PITA for podcasts. Most of the time I now use it with a bluetooth adaptor to play music from my phone, the volume and sound quality is much better than the standard 3.5mm aux in.

Thanks bungle.

Do the steering controls work with the bt dongle? I currently use 3.5mm aux so was wondering if it's worth the effort to add this.

Does anyone know if I am short a cable please?

Thanks
Mike

Sorry, kept forgetting to try. Nope, the forward/backward steering wheel controls don't seem to work (I use VLC on Android, YMMV with other apps/os).

There were two cables supplied for the kit originally, one was for the Hi Line stereo, the other for the low line... different connectors and you'd need to look back to see what the differences were...

Dependent on the model of the radio unit in the car...
