Simple question guys
Not 100% sure on price it but I think it's around £30 to activate and about £60 a year to subscribe from year after searching the web
Also a cheaper lifetime owner option which is cheaper in the long term if I keep the Van long term
So is it worth the discount I could get back from the insurance company which would be around £57 but again not 100% until I talk with my insurer again
Wouldn't be fussy about having the Van back if it's taken and who knows what may have lived in it
It's well secured with the usual security devises
Thoughts guys

Depends a lot on your insurance, cost of van etc, me, I have to have it, they won't insure a van worth over 20k without a Tracker. But the discount on the insurance is less than what it costs to have the Tracker subscription. I did a deal with them for five years subscription so seemed a better deal at the time.

If your van carries the tools of your trade and its loss would have a massive impact on your day job then don't skimp on this expenditure....the grief of its loss will cost you far far more in the long term...
So much so I would even consider getting a second one such as the Cantrack T9 and hide it deep within the vehicle ... the Transit van and the Mercedes Sprinter are always in the top ten most stolen vehicles in the U.K....
Transit is number one in London!

I think the topic may be about a caravan rather than a works van with tools

I didn't activate my tracker on 2015 £28000 caravan, simply because 1.. I don't want it back if some has been using it 2.. I've been told that if it is tracked to a dodgy location, the police won't assist with it's recovery, and 3.. the Caravan Club were quite happy to insure it new for old without the tracker being activated, but minus the tracker discount, which was about the same as tracker subscription.
Also, the tracker fitted t as standard to my van wasn't an active unit. It only became active after I'd reported the van missing.

Trouble with the Tracker is that it's only useful once you realise the van has gone - which could be days or weeks - as mentioned do you want it back at that point!
We went with the Club Secure product from C&CC, or you can go to CanTrack direct, which will email you movement.
Works well, we tested it bringing it home from storage, and phone was pinging away within mins

Cheers lads
Don't think I'm going to bother reactivating the tracker
As to the topic not being clear .I thought that posting in the caravan and camping section would be enough of a clue
