We were told 6 months, works keep a pallet load of 10 litre barrels as back up, and every 6 mths they change it.

The yanks had a serious issue with adblue sender unit shortages, so bad the truck makers were rewriting the trucks software to enable the trucks to still run, this was due to the senders also having an adbliue quality sensor built in.

Great way to bring the world to standstill as a truck uses approx 1 tank of adblue to 1 tank of fuel, no advblue and the thing derates so bad you basically cannot drive it.

England

Check the production date on the drums, two year lifespan from production, if kept in a sensible location, I won’t buy off the forecourt, it doesn’t like being in the sun.

Cummins say six to twelve months + depending on storage.

Q. What is the shelf life of AdBlue?
A. The shelf life is AdBlue defined in the ISO 22241-3 standards. At constant temperatures up to 30 deg C the product will last a minimum of 12 months; at constant temperatures up to 35 deg C the shelf life is reduced to a minimum of 6 months. It is recommended that AdBlue be stored out of the direct sunlight and below 35 deg C. Where higher ambient temperatures are experienced, tanks should be insulated or stored in a shaded area.
