After the hassle I'm getting with this Invery wotsit - and the amazingly out of date sat nav - I'm thinking about this.... Thoughts, experiences....

I have this unit made by IDCore which has bad and good sides

I use Android auto on it which proves to be a bit flaky on occasion

Never tried this with Apple car play

I love it integrates to OEM Bosch screen, install is pretty easy, initial config even easier

like i said a bit buggy on Andriod auto but I think it is Android auto issue not the units

afer lats upgrade of firmware it is even much more responsive and does reconnect much easier

pity it works on AUX audio not MOST

but i like it way more that those TESLA like huge screens as it maintains D4 interior look

so far it took me all over Europe with no issues (maybe a reboot or two) t for my older eyes it is so much better too look at 7 inch screen rather than micro phone on holder

I have the Naviplus system from Australia.
It was a pain to install due to finding space for the control boxes and all the cabling but once in has worked flawlessly ever since.

Retains all my old interface but adds teh carplay / Android Auto ability wirelessly and is all I use nowadays.

My only real complaint which is something the system you are looking at will share is the LOUSY touch screen on the Discovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

selecting anything is a 4 second wait and scrolling the page is a hit and miss affair.

Still the best option in my opinion until they come up with a replacement screen that retains all the old interface.

screen delay to touches was also quite bad on IDCore system much improved on latest FW but still a bit misaligned when typing locations or similar

I have this on my 2014 Disco.

Its perfect... runs CarPlay as well as my 2022 electric car.

well worth the money simple to install.....shame it uses the Aux as said but the sound is excellent through the Meridian. A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.
