United Kingdom 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 XS Auto Stornoway GreyDiscovery 4

Hi there

I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 on Vodafone and can't get the Address Book up either (numbers, no name info).. Has anyone else managed it with this phone? Also where's the best place to upgrade the firmware on the phone? Wireless upgrade won't work for me and I must admit I'm somewhat nervous of losing Outlook settings etc on my work Blackberry.

G.

As per above, go to your network providers website and from there to the firmware updates.

Caller ID and call logs don't work properly, but phone book does - even after the D4 Assurance programme updates Confused

Hi,

I am watching this thread with interest as my wife and I have a Blackberry Curve and Bold respectively ~ but D4 not until June.

I posted 'Bluetooth Phone System ~ Blackberry compatibility' on Mar 21st and RichardM posted to say:

My Blackberry bold works fine and displays the phone book. When someone rings me it only displays the number if the entries are stored in the +447xxxxxxxxx format (as all mine are). They need to be stored as 07xxxxxxxxx to display the name for incoming calls.

Not sure whether this helps or is an answer to the display problem, will find out for myself when I try mine out on the XS when it arrives.

What I do know is that my wife took delivery of a new Cooper S in January this year which has Bluetooth phone capability and both phones perform faultlessly with it, displaying Caller ID's and all other relevent info.

The software version of my Bold is v4.6.0.162

Don't get your hopes up based on it working in the Mini - my BB worked fine in my Audi's with full functionality - also works fine in MrsH's D3 which has a Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth kit.

Just a ref. note really for anyone else struggling with a Bold or Curve in the future.

Over the last month, been trolling through the various Blackberry threads regarding Blackberry/D4 Bluetooth compatibility for when I got my XS.

Picked it up Monday and neither the Address Book (names) or Caller ID displayed ~ much as expected ~ my software version was quite old though.

Upgraded my 9000 Bold to software v4.6.0.303 (Platform 4.0.0.248) via Desktop Manager and now both my Address Book and Caller ID work perfectly.

Did the same with my wifes Curve and that works the same. Thumbs Up

to quote my own reply in another thread, http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic61468-15.html:

Only last week I got an exchange BB 8900 Curve for my broken one, when I received it I updated it to the latest OS available from Vodafone here and the phone book & Call register (Dialed/Missed/Received) now work 100% Mr. Green , previous version only the phonebook worked and register was garbled at best.

The file I downloaded is: 8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel1682_PL5.2.0.104_A5.0.0.1036_Vodafone_UK.exe
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
