Today I was told that 17" Holdern Adventure rims fit the D3. Apparently they have the same stud pattern and the same offset, the centre has to be machined alittle larger to fit and the LR centre caps fit too. Take offs from Colin Watson Holden in Ballarat are suppose to be cheap.
The info came from a reliable industry source. Live it like it's your last!

I'd check the weight rating of the wheels. The D3 is a very heavy car.

I also recall an earlier posting about some company in Oz that did a D3 specific steel rim at what looked like a good price. I will have a look at home tonight for the brochure if required

G'day everybody,
I got the Dynamic Steel rims for approx $160 each - cheaper than the tyres
Its wonderful not having to worry about bashing these rims off road.

cheap as chips too - less than $90 a wheel. 2006 HSE TDV6
