advice on donor engine
As my crank snapped friday on my 57 plate it seems the best way forward would be to buy a donor Jag s type as I believe the base engine is the same, what else would need swapping over apart from the obvious bolt on bits, will any 2.7 diesel Jag s type engine do or is there any year euro spec etc that wont. just trying to get facts right before finding the right donor vehicle.
Thanks in advance.

Note a new engine from LR is about £4K with 2 year warranty.
I've not heard of any jags being excluded before.
I guess this is because you need to strip the ancillaries off.

Any Jag with the 2.7 TDV6 will do, but you will need to keep your (EU4) designation. If you buy an older (EU3) engine you would have to swap out that engines EGR's, induction side, etc and refit your own EU4 bits. (No big deal)
Alternatively you might get a later Jag with (EU4) regs which will slot in with minimum alterations.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

In AU there have been engine swaps from a Ford Territory which uses the same 2.7 TDV6 engine. I thought this engine was made together with PSA (Peugeot/Citroen) and they used a 2.7 diesel in the 607 so maybe a Peugeot donor engine could work?2016 D4 TDV6 Corris Grey

I believe so, its another option yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
Or you could buy my 57 Commercial, fit your back seats into it and off you go
Although I am sorry to hear about the dead engine... been there
