Advice on very low mileage Discovery 3

Hi, I would like some advice please.

I have just purchased a 2005 Discovery 2.7 Auto SE witch has only done 2800 miles. The vehicle was stolen pre reg and only recently found. I have had this confirmed by all the relevant authorities.

It had only had an oil change and new battery before I took delivery.

I was going to book it into a main dealer for them to give a thorough check over and update any software and check for any recalls that have been missed.

Thoughts please

Thanks

Steve

I'm not a mechanic, but working on the basis that the mileage shown is correct, I'd be asking the dealer to pay particular attention to the brakes; corrosion to disks, "dry" calipers, delaminating shoes.
You might also find that the air conditioning will need recharging.
It's probably been laid up for some time, so I'd get the tyre checked for flat spots/deformation.
Some deterioration, like corrosion in the exhaust, may only be discovered later.

Good luck; hope you have a reliable dealer/independent. If you want a second opinion, you might like to email forum member 10forcash, who is a travelling technician/service guy (see Dealer Feedback forum for refs).

no mots until now as car was never registered. DVLA insisted on carrying out inspection on vehicle before they would issue a registration number.

Good advice there from Dr Lex,

As suggested, and presuming you bought this thing because it was a good buy my first port of call would be 10forcash,

Dont scrimp and scrape at this stage because it could turn out expensive in the long run.

A trip to Yeovil LR to purchase some trinkets could result in a check on recalls from one of the site sponsors AKA Nick, the parts manager who does not offer this service as a general rule however whilst you are there handing over youre hard earned cash such a conversation could be informative ?

Sorry Nick Thumbs Up increasing youre already busy workload.

The tyres may well require changing, disks and pads too, all of this has already been said,

Good sound advice in my opinion,

Hope the car works out to be a real cracker, it certainly has the potential to.
