Hi
The stealers have diagnosed a worn bearing on the rear offside drive shaft and now claim it is the tie rod and not the bearing. The tie rod they replaced at the beginning of September on both sides (about 2000 miles). Should there be any movement in the drive shaft, as there is none on the other side? There is movement in the drive shaft that to me would indicate a worn bearing.
The advisory notes from the MOT also say the OSF wheel bearing is worn. When you hold the wheel and check for movement it does rock ever so slightly. The land rover technician says this is common and you need to hold the track rod at the same time and then try. Is this correct as I have never heard off this and would not check a car with independent suspension in this way?
The disco has covered 56,000 miles.
Many thanks for any advice you could give me.
