Advice please… slow coolant leak - water pump?

Afternoon all…
Come out to the D3 last couple of days and there is a small pool of coolant on my driveway.. trying to chase it but not easy to spot the leak given it’s a G4 with the various bash plates on it..

Anyway took fan shroud off and there appears to be coolant from the left bank very close to the water pump.. not leaking hugely and barely noticeable on a journey..

Not long had both EGR valves replaced..
opinions please on whether the leak is from the water pump or above that? Difficult to see where it’s coming from without extensively stripping things down.. hence your thoughts please?

Well it was the water pump… strangely it only leaked when the engine was cold and stationary with engine off… when running it was perfect…

Slightly annoying as this is the second thing changed in the front end that has had little use… both the oil pump and the water pump have now been changed despite doing less than 15,000 miles..

Anyway you could see the telltale leaking marks at the bottom of the pump so am now a happy man!

can you tell me what pump you fitted and were the bolts ok to get out or corroded as i noticed a pink stain on the bottom of my pump so looks like its on the way out mind you cant really complain its 18 yrs old Thumbs Up please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

I cheated and had it done when it went in for service at my indies… however the pump was less than 15,000 miles old and had been done with the cambelt… it was not OEM ..

Thus I had the whole lot done again and my indies would only put on an OEM pump for which I don’t blame them…

Been faultless since..

Might be more expensive initially but cheaper in the long term.. you won’t be replacing it again in 15k !
And double the expense…
