Aftermarket metal coolant manifold

I keep reading on here and fb where the coolant thermostat housings at the top of the block fail and causes the engine to dump out all it's coolant, usually when you are hundreds of miles from home.

I have come across that they are now doing an upgraded aluminium part from a seller I have used in the past for the aluminium inlet manifolds.

Just creating a thread for when I get my hands on them and will give a review and installation guide.

Will keep you updated

The concept of using metal for them isn't new. They were doing them 5 years ago, but at 4 times the price! Laughing

That looks much more reasonable and no brainer

Finally got round to installing the aluminium coolant manifold.

Originally ordered and was going to replace as part of preventitive maintenance but never got round to do it.

My disco got impatient - coming back from a drive on friday (thankfully a short drive) I had steam coming under the bonnet and a puddle of coolant underneath my car...

Pleased with the aluminium one, nice and heavy and seems much more robust to the plastic oem (I believe mine was original from MY15 3.0L) So has done several years but this is something that could leave you stranded!! Worth the £45 in my opinion and only a 30 minute job for a DIY'er.
