It's just amazing how you knew exactly what to ask for and got what you wanted, maybe you should ring up for DG next year
I appreciate that facts make it difficult for you to produce your ridicule based garbled mantra Peter .....but you have omitted to recognise that despite the poor negotiating from the lad I spoke to initially....I did eventually get everything I wanted at the price I set out to from WD ...I paid them £650 for it ...which for the luxury cover with extras is a cracking deal compared to others I've seen here. It was their subsequent poor admin that led me to cancel.
Oh I see! never mind, no problem with having to pay out cash in advance with CCP as they deal direct, but then again it won't matter as they don't accept any claims due to wear & tear, so no claims will be made

It would have mattered if you hadn't disclosed it

dSL. Although too late for me to haggle further now on the betterment, out of curiosity were you able to get it as your D3 is newer than my 2006? Or did I just miss a trick when haggling. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with what I have, and as I don't keep my cars too long, don't think it will matter too much in the future.....................................................................................................

Mines an 06MY as well. When first took out a policy was offered it as part of haggling, on renewal just went through what I had and that was in there. ISTR it was £50 extra for no betterment but that made the policy 13 months for 12 so in my eyes got it foc.

Cheers DSL, I will just live with it! I'm sure I won't have any claims anyway, as the guy I bought it off said it was a very special, lucky D3, and had been hand built by God himself!

WD just phoned me. Nice clear telephone conversation, and the chap seemed to know what he was talking about. I did not want to spend ages on the phone haggling, so just told him that I wanted a franchise dealer warranty, I knew about 13 for 12, and I wanted all emissions and srs systems included, and I was aware of what deals had been offered to the forum members.
He offered all the above for £600. Paperwork on its way.

Sounds like a good deal, no budging from them on "no betterment"?

Gareth is your D3 newer than my 2006 plate?
Just curious why those with slightly cheaper quotes and no betterment saved a few extra quid. I'm hoping it's because yours is a few years newer, or just coming out of LR warranty.
I'm still happy but have a couple of mates ready to get a warranty so the more info the better!

No could not get them to budge in the no betterment. I can't remember what the percentage was now, but will read the paperwork carefully.
Mine is a Sept 08 (58 plate) but for some reason only known to Land Rover, its manufacturers warranty did not run out until 2nd December 2011 Even my dealer was confused by that, and they owned the car before me (ex demo) but that's what Topix said about my car.
