JJ , I presume the bushing at the bottom of the damper has been checked aswell ?
BTW there are some coloured 3D drawings of the suspension setup in Wiggs gallery.I'll have a look on Microcat later when I open the laptop as sometimes the parts drawings on that can be helpfull. If there's anything there I'll post up or email to you.

I have a similar issue. A rattle coming from the drivers side rear when going over cracked or uneven roads. I'll check the body mounts tomorrow 65Nm is the correct torque from memory, but I'd better look it up. Have a nice day!

Discowex, to my knowledge the bushing at the bottom of the damper has been checked, at least the dealer has said that they checked it. Jamo, does your noise sound like mine? Thanks to all who have chimed in with ideas I appreciate it.

Not quite. It sounds less tinny metallic. A bit duller. And it seems to 'drum' a bit. It;s hard to describe. I'll try and take a sound grab tomorrow. Have a nice day!

Does anyone have a drawing that shows the body bush locations (where the frame connects to the body)? And, can they be tightened from below? Thanks! 16 D4 Landmark

Stick it on some ramps and have a look. They should be quite obvious. There are a couple at the front (you can see the bushes if you take the grill off and look into the wings) Should be a couple after the front wheels, a couple in the middle (between the cassis and the door sill) and I think two more sets to the rear. They are a large nut sitting below a frange from the chassis. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I solved mine. I fitted the stabiliser (anti-roll bar) bush spacers and all is now well! Have a nice day!
