Air Con
I have one of those 'free' wheel re-alignment things with Kwik Fit (garage near us are pretty decent to be honest) so I popped it in the other day to have it done again as I have a re-occurring traction/stability light and subsequent system coming on when going around a roundabout.
Anyway I digress. My aircon stopped working (cold) when I put it on after winter so I decided to take them up on their no fix no fee regassing offer. I was fully expecting them not to be able to do it (was thinking the pipe was corroded, usual suspect). Anyway when I went back they said it was all sorted and I was £59.95 lighter. Drove home and there was an improvement - not ice cold but a little cooler.
Given they say they do a pressure test and check for leaks should this be the best I can expect from a regas? It's a 2006 Disco 3 HSE by the way

My D3 HSE 2006 when purchased July 2016 need amongst other fixes an air con 're-gas'
It was just blowing warm air as per the outside temperature at the time.
A re-gas was a condition of the sale and has blown ice cold air ever since, really cold!
I understand all that was done was a re-gas but can't guarantee that.
I would say yours needs further attention?

heyho,
Does your receipt say how much gas they put in? 2006 D3 HSE with rear air con takes over 800 grams non rear air con takes over 500 grams. If they've only put in 500 then that might explain the lower performance.

Hi David
No unfortunately I only got a bill of sale with all notified defects sorted. When I bought the car from a dealer in Broxbourne there were a few things needed such as missing headrest and no spare wheel!
The air con needed attention and we agreed a re-gas would sort this and was carried out by their 'approved repairer' (which is not a Land Rover specialist).
My Volvo V40 prior to my D3 was re-gassed by a local garage and I got the same positive result.
Maybe go back to your repairer first and ask their advice?
Some places here in Colchester seem to offer the re-gas service for that £59.95?? price, but have no knowledge of their workmanship.
I only use a Land Rover Specialist for any repairs that I cannot tackle which on this car is a lot!

I had mine re-gassed at Kwik Fit last year and again was thinking that it wouldn't last.
Pleasantly surprised that when I got the car back it was ice cold.
Used it in earnest for the first time this year last week and again its still super cold.
They should be measuring the temp before they start and again when they finish, as per their T&Cs

the trouble is they aren't skilled to find small leaks. (or any leaks)
So all they do is check they can pull a vacuum, and if they can regass.
If it leaks out shortly after that you need to take it somewhere else, and start all over again and pay all the initial fee's twice.
So I find its cheaper in the long run to take it to an air con specialist.
IF IT HAS LEAKED OUT, 99% OF THE TIME THERE IS A REASON/LEAK!

Thanks for the advice, I shall return to the garage!

The blurb states:
The recharge process is quite simple and involves removing any old refrigerant gas and oil from your air con system before replacing this with the correct amount of new refrigerant and lubricant as per your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation. A vacuum test is also performed to ensure there are no cracks or damage in your air conditioning system that could cause the gas to leak out.

One of my access ports is leaking. So it doesn't drop pressure when pressure tested or under vacuum.
Just noticed it last week when pressure testing again, and disconnected from the port.
Will try a new cap with a good washer/seal in it.

Two ports with plastic caps, should be close to the red circle shown.
Spray around them with soapy water to see if any bubbles develop. Then take them of there should be no hiss or pressure from the caps when removing them, and try again to see if any bubbles form on the ports.

Cap is just there to keep the dirt out, inside its actually a schrader valve core just like a car tyre one.
