Thank goodness the 4.4 V8 condenser is easier to do.

I attempted to do this job this evening but was beaten by 2 torx bolts beneath the headlight clips that had been rounded. I was gutted as I'd managed to get the 2 stubborn ones out just beforehand.

I'll either have to drill them out or attempt a different method I suppose.

Great guide Mikey, I intend to use it tomorrow when replacing my condenser Thumbs Up

Out of curiosity, why do I need to disconnect the crash sensors or disconnect the battery when removing the two bolts by the headlight?!

what size are the Torx bits i need for this? need to order a set and want to ensure include right size, may get extra in case the bits round out if they are that much of a pain to remove.

Cheers

Just changed mine after delivery from AF Thumbs Up
Had a pinhole leak that lasted during last summer ok, but needed doing to fix it properly.

Took me about two hours, but actually that also included coffee and the BT guy coming to fix the cable. I reckon an hour on mine if I needed to do it again.

But as mine is an 07, this meant I didn't have to fight with the power steering cooler as that's at the bottom of the radiator area.

Superb guide DM .. thanks for posting.

I am in the middle of the job and I have been struggling to remove the locating peg for the slam panel.

My disco has an unusual looking recessed fastener in between the two top T40 torx bolts which is on the drivers side and is silver and not something I have seen before .. how do I remove it or does it remain ?

Also, could you please elaborate a little on the best method for lifting the slam panel over the pegs ?

I have removed all of the bolts but the slam panel doesn't seem to want to budge much.

thanks again !

anyone able to advice what size the o rings are?

I have a set of standard black o rings various sizes but have seen specific air con o rings for sale.

was hoping to just pick up what I needed rather than another box of all sorts.

I never measured mine but they're quite small, I'm sure if you have various sizes you'll be good to go. I read a previous post and was expecting to get new ones with my condenser from AF but there were none in the box and ended up using the old ones as I had no choice.

Not had any problems so far Thumbs Up
