Hi,

Is regassing covered by the warranty or is service consumable?

Thanks

AC BLOWER PROBLEM

Hi All,

I have a 2005 D3 and having problems with the air conditioning.
At first the front blowers were working fine but no air was coming out of the back upper vents.
After several weeks, when I put the AC on, i can feel it cooling inside the dashboard but no air coming out of the vents. I can feel the cool air on my legs and laps. The thing is you can actually hear the sound of the AC blowing at various speeds when I modify the control.

Can anyone help.

Thanks

NL

Hi again,

Had my AC serviced last week and now works great.
Local mobile service, done at home £65 all in.
No issues when any of the system.
Very happy.

Cheers

Guys , if any of you suspect a leak ,DON'T go to halfrauds and a buy a top up can with sealant in it. First of all , sealant reacts with the moisture in the system to seal the leak were it escapes but it aiso blocks your drier unit as it is supposed to be changed beforehand.
Get it checked professionally with nitrogen gas etc.
If anyone knowingly release's R134a into the atmosphere they can be fined around £2000.00
Make sure they are F-gas registered.

Serious AIRCON FAULT any ideas

got a 4.4 Petrol V8
initially I had corroded pipes, which were repaired but apparently broke in another place, but it was cold so I didn't notice aircon is not functioning
then the compressor broke, completely seized, with metal filings all around,
they replaced the aircon compressor but it still didn't work, so they replaced AC control panel (in petrol engine it's different than diesel) - still not working
then they changed BeCM, checked all fuses & relay, re-programmed BeCM and PCM (just repeating what I heard)
and still no joy!
They say electrical signals are all OK, pressure 6 BAR but still aircon not working, any ideas?
last thing they want to check is some expansion valve somewhere inside aircon system but they are not sure and just guessing
it's been 3 weeks already and I'm loosing faith

The aircon stopped producing cold air yesterday on the way down to the South of France in my D3 08. THe last 4 hours were not pleasant.

Should i attempt just re-gassing or should i try and book it in with the local Land rover garage.

If it was working well and suddenly stopped I would suspect it has sprung a leak so a re-gas is pointless. The system runs at high pressure so any corroded pipe or seal will eventually fail. However if it was only just cooling it before it stopped then the gas may have been low and now it may have dropped below the threshold for the system to operate and the auto shut off has kicked in, in which case a re-gas would work.

Seems the a/c system on the D3 is pretty crap in terms of longevity!

it is especially if you have rear air-con

check with independent A/C garage, they can check whether the system keeps the pressure and re-gas or try to identify the leakage, also the pipes in most cases can be repaired, no need to replace them at Land Rover garage
and sometimes the leakage may be very small, and re-gasing may work
