Hi all
I can’t make up my mind if my Discovery 3 has a leak or not. It’s a 2006 with 51K on the clock, when I reverse into my parking space at work the rear passengers wheel clips the pavement, on doing so makes a noise, I cant make up my mind if it’s the rubber tyre making the noise or if there is an air leak from the air suspension.
What should I be looking for?, has anyone else had this problem?, and how easy is it to replace the air units?
The suspension doesn’t seem to go down when its parked overnight, perhaps I should leave it until something obvious shows, or take it in for someone else to look at.
I did a brief search on this but couldn’t find anything on it.
Thanks for any help offered.
Best wishes,
Michael

Hi
I guess if there was a leak you would hear the hiss constantly. What you could try is lower the suspention and then wait a moment then raise it again to off road or standard then jump out of the car and listen to where you think the leak is coming from... you should hear the compressor whurring away untill it stops.
So I think if there was a leak, the compressor would be on constantly - possibly warning lights coming up saying suspention fault lowering ... and you would notice that very quickly.

Hi belial
Thanks for the advice, I have managed to solve the issue, it was due to the tyre pressures being a bit on the low side, as the wheel was hitting the curb it was causing the tyre to deform and let some air out.
Since I have inflated the tyres to the required pressures I haven’t had this issue.
Thanks for your help
Best wishes
