Air Suspension Problem
Hello All,
Been a month since I acquired my 2013 D4, I noticed the front air suspension (driver left side) has been dropping overnight.
When I start the car it goes back up normally and goes without any issues throughout the whole day.
No error codes, also had the car’s air suspension inspected at a reputable garage in my area for any leakage and no signs (at least using the spray method).
Have anyone gone thru similar case as I do? Any way to troubleshoot this?
Thanks

But does the “reputable garage” know how to look after a JLR product?
The air suspension system is complex and well documented in the workshop manual.
To answer your question
1. The thrown codes available from the ODBII port need to be read.
2. As its the front corner only that drops, there is most probably an issue with the front valve block
3. The block needs to be inspected for proper operation.
4. As does the air spring, in question.
I’m surprised others didn’t chime in for assistance before me…

pull the right hand side wheel arch out and check front block for leaks
since the front is dropping it is either front valve block of middle valve which is distributing air there but i would bet on front valve block leak
good hunting

Plus 1 ^^^^
Plse also try soap testing the struts at different heights , as mine only leaked when in access mode
I pressure tested them after I’d removed the fronts struts , turned them upside down in order to show the area of leaks
Find using the garden sprayers for soap testing that have a long lance handy to be able to reach the Voss connections on top of the struts
Hope that’s also useful

Ah, but don’t forget have to go to the front valve block first before reaching the struts so don’t worry ur awesome theory is still sound
Pheeeew, hopefully I got away with that and knowone noticed

@gstuart, Out of interest, what year is your vehicle and how do you use it? My suspension is as tight as a whistle.2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green

Hi itsaguything
It’s a 2005 , Mainly use it around town, occasional long run and some off roading when I get chance
As a side note when I bought mine had to rebuild the suspension as it was in a right mess from previous owners , had to replace
Air compressor
Both front air struts
3 x valve blocks
Air tank
All air lines blown out due to the old dryer material dust
Pressure tested everything to ensure there were no leaks from anywhere
Removed and replaced all Voss fittings with brass pushfits
Rear upper wishbones
4 x wheel alignment
Front and rear drop links
After that was done the difference was like night and day and very impressed with the ride quality
Hope that helps

OK, that makes sense then... Just calling it out loud as newbies would not necessarily be aware...
The L319 is divided into a couple of versions... and as this is a D4 focused forum... I assumed you had the D4 and not the D3. (D4 didn't come out until 2009).
Yes, your suspension has lived a long life.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the enlightenments..
It’s a relief to hear that there are more to the air suspension systems than the struts as it’ll be the one to break the bank.
Let me take a look at it soon and i’ll let you know the once I manage to find the culprit.
Thanks!
