Airbag region starts to tear spontaneously.
My car has seen quite a bit of Portugal an Spain the last ten years, and I think this now flies in my face.
The top of the dashboard is falling apart at the seems, most visible the 'pre-cut' for the passenger airbag.
Anybody has an idea what to do, exept for ductape or a Turkish carpet on top of it

I thought of many things, but all results will be ugly;
- a protective film over it ;
- a strip of kit on the seam ;
- a 'dashboard carpet' like chinese and Turkish taxi driver's have;
- let it be.. .. it will fall out of the remainder of the dashboard...
Replacing is not an option. Anybody knows if this is difficult / expensive ?

Yeah, LR3s in Middle East and ‘murica (particularly southern parts) do tend to exhibit the cracking dash syndrome

But maybe replacing with one from a breaker...? I mean you guys have to have at least a few D3s totaled and written off in the last 10 years

I'd be cautious putting anything like a carpet over it, if the airbag were to go of, the carpet will become a face whacker Richard
