The person who started this topic has a 2010 discovery 4 TDv6 but he also has the same idle that my vehicle has which is 1100rpm when the air con is switched on in park or in neutral and my vehicle is a 2014 Model SDv6 so it can't be due to a later software.
Even though it is the first start of my vehicle during the day (Even in the morning) when outside temp is about (25-30°C) and when the engine is cold (when it is not upto the avg. engine working temp.) still it has the same idle rpm which is 1100 (air con switched on) but when you put the vehicle into drive it falls closer to 800rpm.

Gayathra,
again! my old MY2011 D4 HSE Lux done this and my new to me 2014 D4 XXV do the same (both when the ext temp is more tha 30°C).
So, assuming that your friend's D4 does not do it, the anomaly is that vehicle, not yours ....[/quote]
Thanks for sharing this information

Aircon High Idle RPM Solved
If the outside temp. is more than 30°C, when I switched on the Aircon (in park or neutral) the rpm never dropped down closer to 800rpm and it was always at 1100rpm. Lately the cooling of the vehicle was also very poor and I took it to an Air Conditioning Repair Shop. They connected the pressure gauges to the aircon system and found out that the AC Compressor is not working properly. Direct Pressure Sensing Valve (DPS Valve) which is fitted to the compressor was replaced and the aircon was regassed. Now even though the outside temp. exceeds 30°C, within one minute after switching on the Aircon the RPM drops closer to 800RPM. Now cool air starts to blow as soon as I switch on the Aircon but previously it took a little bit of time to blow cold air.
I did a video of how the RPM changes with switching on the Aircon (after replacing the DPS Valve) and the link to that can be found below. [when outside temp = 33°C]
I have found a technical bulletin regarding this and the link to that also can be found below.

Completely normal.
Sorry Gareth, It's not normal. I have a 2015 and when ambient temp is less than 30 C all is normal, when it is around the 32 C mark and above, the revs climb to 1100-1200 rpm but only in Neutral or Park, in drive it revs at the normal speed. I have compared with to two other Discos and mine is the only one that does it out of three.
