Aircon steppers or condensor?

Getting cold air out of passenger side and tepid air on drivers. Put on full heat and get heat on driver's side and tepid air on passenger.

Was showing the usual stepper error codes, so cleared them. Then did the HEVAC reset (econ & recirc buttons) and got 8 error flashes and none from defrost LED. Ran system same symptoms but the error codes have yet to return!

Am I safe to assume it is dashboard dismantling time to replace the stepper motors?

Thanks. Thumbs Up

Starting to see a few on the forum now with a partially blocked heater matrix, the passenger side seems to silt up first and go cool. I think some have had success back flushing with a hose pipe from the bulkhead or I think changing the matrix isn't tragically difficult. Stepper motors are a Censored to change, I did all four some years ago when one failed.

Had the same issue with my d4. Flushed the heater matrix via the heater pipes alongside the motor, both directions. Injecting some air with the flushing water in pulses brought out a lot of crap. Where does the silt come from? Works like a treat now.
Was concerned initially that it may have been the stepper motors but confirmed the relevent were all working with a camera scope.

Corrosion inhibitors in the coolant breaking down and the engine block starts rotting from the inside.
