Alarm keeps going off
Hi all, my alarm has started playing up and triggering itself. Usually occurs within 10-15 minutes of parking and locking.
I've had a search and read a few posts about this but most seem to relate to the FBH. I have ruled that out on mine due to the time factor of locking and leaving.
Any ideas where to start? Is there a log in the system of what triggered it (eg low voltage, interior sensor triggered etc?)
Am I right in thinking that a single press to lock will disable the interior sensors as that's a good test I guess? (although leaves the car more vulnerable)2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I'd check your bonnet switches IIRC they have been well known to set off the alarms. Failing them might it be your seatbelt realing back when the alarm is armed hence setting it off??

Mine did that once a couple of months ago (first time in 6 years of ownership) - was after opening just the rear hatch and closing again - alarm should re-arm?
I opened and closed all doors and hatch - touchwood - not happened since

Thanks, will have a look at bonnet switches, don't think it's anything to do with the seatbelt as I have no issues with it reeling back in2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Single press is interior sensors OFF, double press is interior sensors ON. Its the opposite to the D3.
Many folk never superlock their D4's, because they never read the manual and don't know you have to press it twice to fully alarm it!

LOL, yes wondered about perhaps a spider in the roof sensor module but no cobwebs to be seen so don't think so 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

My alarm has done this a number of times over the last week
Really annoys the neighbours as I've loud air horns that work with the alarm and the usual horn
For me it seems to not happen when I press the keyfob button twice (which should in fact only be that it turns on the interior sensors). Oh well Coffeecup

Based on an earlier reply I checked the bonnet switch, gave it a liberal squirt of WD:40 and not had a problem since 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

The most common culprit seems to be the bonnet switch. The simple and permanent solution is to bypass the switch with a piece of wire. Of course that means the bonnet isn't alarmed. But nobody will know. So that's obviously done at your peril.

I regularly carry timber for my mother in law's fire. Alarm regularly goes off for a day or two after. The smallest of flys or spiders seem to set it off.

i did wonder how sensitive the alarm is, at first i found this moth fluttering around, assume it had been hiding in the vents,
so now i've got the heating on it's blown all the junk out
did remove the pollen filter and gave that a good hoover
