Alive Tuning Remap
I had Alive Atric Econ Remap.
I'm now up to 37 miles per gallon.
I'm delighted with the result.
It costed €500 but I'll be recouping that based on savings on fuel.
Over the course of the few years that I have had the remap, I feel I have achieved the maximum the remap can offer in terms of fuel efficiency on a 2005 vehicle. In order to do this, my driving style has become more genteel. Gentle takeoffs, average motorway speed at 60 mph, looking forward to hills and slopes while keeping in gear number six in sport mode for as long as possible. I will certainly not be getting a speeding ticket with my new style of driving. Another added bonus!
Having said that, if you are driving in automatic mode, you will see an increase in fuel efficiency provided you follow the official advice from Alive on driving style. Basically not putting the foot to the floor on a regular basis!
Interesting event recently, I had installed new non-genuine front discs a few months ago. There was a slight squeaking sound for months and steering wheel gave a slight wobble at high speeds on breaking. After an exhaustive process, I discovered the discs were warped. This resulted in my miles per gallon average reducing from 37 mpg to 27 mpg.
Prior to not knowing what was the drop in miles per gallon, at one point, I began to form the conclusion that the remap did not work, however I have disproved this with the photograph below.
I'm saving an average of 15 squid on a half fill up of tank.
The irony to this parable is that by going for the cheaper parts, in this case on the discs, they will cost cost significantly more on the running of the vehicle in the long run than in purchasing the genuine parts!
in conclusion, to achieve maximum efficiency from the remap, there needs to be no underlying issues with your vehicle, in particular, anything along the drive train from the wheels straight through to the transmission. However, even if there is, you'll still achieve a fuel efficiency but not the maximum!

Just to update this post, this week I had a full service and intercooler hose replacement. I am now up to 44 miles per gallon. This is all the more incredible in given the fact that the vehicle is 15 years old.

Very much, thanks
Dundee is a tad far for me though, will look for somewhere a little more local.

I'm very chuffed with the initial fuel efficiency.
I'll have to give it a few weeks before I can assess the full impact.
It has more power down the revs. 1500 rpm is what she does when low speed whereas before remap, it was 2000rpm.
I got the handheld "Atric" system. You plug it in yourself and remap. Takes two minutes. You can revert to original map at any time.
