alternative carwash
Hi all,
I went to the 'Beekse Bergen' zoo today. You can drive through here with you own car which is basically less interesting then taking the bus on the same ride, because you get a driver who knows everything about the animals and also knows where they hide.
But after taking the bus we decided to do the tour with our own car as well. At the giraffe's it got interesting...

They were in the middle of the road and blocked traffic. They were investigating every car closely...

... and even started licking the car!!!

What the hell was that waiting for you alongside the road in the distance of the first picture, it looks like some kinda giant wolf crossed with a big cat!!?

actually this post is a bit older, so the giraffe licked over the chips in the windscreen .
BTW the giraffes were actually looking for leaves in the trench where the wipers hide... easier to get to than the ground.
@Dan, sorry to hear about your roof... expensive trip then! Are you having it fixed? (obviously the Zoo cannot be held liable... ).
@Gareth; besides the giraffes, buffaloes, camels and some deer, none of the animals can get to you. There are advertisements for this zoo with tigers on car's roofs but none of that is going on.
I have been to a drive-through zoo in Britain once though, long ago. Cars with vinyl roofs were still sold new. A family in front of us drove in with such a roof... it took the monkeys a few seconds to tear the whole roof open!!!
