I will be out of warranty soon and will sleep easier knowing no massive bills will cripple me, so a warranty seems to be a sensible option.
Tesco have disappeared up their own so has anyone any recommendations on who to go with?
Still contemplating kidnapping TFC and keeping him in a pit "Silence of the Lambs" style as an alternative

I had a Warranty Direct policy for a year.
Wasn't impressed at all.
You have to pay a percentage of the cost, dependant on mileage of vehicle.
They would only pay a set labour rate and you pay the difference.
Persons with an anal/surrey/boring/ technical accent always explain as to why the warranty dosn't cover your particular problem.
Moved on to AA and now much happier.
They even settled for a wheel bearing whereas others [inc LR] wont.
Had to pay £50 excess though btw....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

That's only my experience of WD Eld70, feel free to have a go.
Also, if you don't like Tesco, then look into what the AA can offer.
At the end of the day, it's all a lottery!...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

The three issues for me with WD were the excess, the percentage repair (decreasing with mileage) and dealer rates. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, it turns out there is an option (I couldn't find it anywhere on the site) to pay an additional waiver to avoid the percentage repair (they call it "no betterment"). Mine will cover dealer rates and has no excess. It's also wear and tear cover from day 1 (default is 90 days) as I just had mine serviced in the last month. Definitiely worth ringing and haggling a bit. Full details here:
