do any of the d3's have altitude meters to tell you high high above sea level you are, just wondered as i was in the goyt valley today and was interested in how high it was as there was plenty of snow about but non back home in burton

The "Off Road" mode on the Sat Nav has altitude, although I question its accuracy.
FYI the car park at the top of the 'Ski Slope' (by the little lake) is 420m according to my os map.

Not sure, mines an HSE. If you press the left hand hard key, I get a choice between Off Road or On Road nav.
Off road mode is OK, but not in this country, may be useful in the Serengeti, but no use whatsoever in the Goyt Valley.
i think mine is on road only, but by the sound of it i am not missing much anyway

No your not. If you want to know your current altitude, go and buy a cheap hand held gps.
