Yes V5 Altox - So if the switch/button was wired LIVE to pin 4 GREEN and OFF to Pin 3 BLACK by the ALTOX unit the switch should turn on the heater manually?

Buttons don't have "LIVE" and "OFF". They have two sides which aren't connected.. yet Smile

One side to green which is the input to the Altox unit, the Altox is looking for ground here to do stuff.

One side to black which is ground.

Pushing the button connects green to black, input to ground. Altox sees that and fires rockets/FBH.

Perfect - by LIVE I mean a switch that has an ON/OFF settings/marking and LIVE being the on terminal Smile

PS: Do you think this would be ok lol! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Heavy-Toggle-Flic...ash+switch

You want a push-button, momentary switch and NOT a toggle or latching switch. The smallest one will do.

My V5 has a button, but we didn't fit it anywhere.
When Bodsy fitted it we decided to just fasten it to the wiring going into the controller as it as unlikely I would use the button, but it is there if I change my mind and I'm almost sure it was already fitted in the plug as it came out of the box so might be worth having a root around the controller

OK does this mean a fixed ON/OFF switch is better to limit max time working?

I have bought and was going to use a simple non latching button as advised.

AND if you have an LED light/Ring do you need to connect YELLOW to BLACK as well as the ON/OFF - GREEN to BLACK ? (so BLACK to one button terminal and GREEN & YELLOW to the other)

No Gary, you're making some assumptions which are going to cause a short circuit and potentially damage your Altox or your car Shocked

OK sorry I am at novice at such things I was going by the image notes posted above.

I assume the GREEN wire to BLACK wire via the button is correct?

Can I ask how then to get the LED button lit when on? (Is it as I said but with a resistor in the Yellow wire)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/LOAD-LINE-RESISTO...g+resistor

My confusion is - is the above for a separate LED or for a button with inbuilt LED?

On some mornings the ALTOX app will not speak to the car either by wifi or text message. Is there a simple way of adding a manual start button even if it in the engine bay?

I do have access to the sim card holder and wiring behind the driver window air vent....

Mine does this sometimes the only way I get it to work again without issue is to pull the fuse then it will accept text and internet connection, as for the switch if you open the car then switch on using the button then close and lock the car this will turn the fbh off I think
