the usual recommendation is Giff-Gaff (without any bundles) as your credit lasts until it runs out, rather than a month as most others seem to be. (Bundles don't roll-over)
Occasionally, they go into silly-mode and text you your remaining credit - which the Altox relays to you and consumes credit - so Giff_gaff send updated credit, which Altox relays, which consumes credit ... etc.
But other han that, all good. whilst in UK.
Did go a bit silly in France on one trip, only resuming tracking capability as we got near Calais on way home..

Alternatively 3gb a month for 6 months with Lebara (on Vodafone network), all for 99p/month. After last month is paid for just kill the auto renewal on the account and get another SIM for another 6 months, just needs a different email address. And repeat.
