Hi Andy, just seen this thread.
The extra wire is for the L322 Range Rover fitment, it's unused on the D4.
Can you get a photo of the other end of the adapter loom?06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I saw that you haven't ECTRL displayed on Settings1 command E0

try to set it manually with the ERRCTRL:0 sms command (below example is set to 10, mine is set to 0)

or resetting to default the Altox by the SETDEFAULT sms command. In this case you will re-configure the Altox

Tried texting ERRCTRL:0 , but it just sent the text straight back to me?
EDIT :-
Just checked the manual for my Altox and it doesn't list the ERRCTRL command - it's a WBUS-5 GPS, bought in May 2018 - perhaps yours is a different version?

It's wired up correctly:
The blue wire on the adapter connects to fresh air on the D4 connector as shown 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
